- UTS stands for University of Technology, Sydney. It is not to be confused with the University of Sydney. UTS is well-known for several things. 1. Because the University does not have an Arts department, we decided to put all of our liberal arts under the umbrella of Communication because it is more tech-centric. 2. “S.L.U.T.S” stands for “The Student League of UTS”, and was later removed from the Union by this chant. 3. Allowing engineers to take enough breaks during Engineering lectures so they can go back to the bar for another drink. 4. The entire campus is without internet or phone reception. 5.
