It was forbidden in Nazi Germany. They wore long hair, were against Nazism and would go to clubs to swing to the music. Nazis would occasionally check into such clubs. By then, the band had been given permission to play German music. All those who were already swing dancing just seconds before had started to perform a traditional German dance to avoid getting in trouble.
