Joan Jett means in slang: Literally, Joan is THE queen of rock and roll. She got her start in music when she founded an all-girl band called The Runaways with Cherie Currie and Lita Ford and Jackie Fox. She formed The Blackhearts, a backing band consisting of “3 good men not showoffs”, after the band disbanded in 1979. Joan founded Blackheart Records after being turned down by 23 major labels. She released her music, including “Bad Reputation,” and “Do You Wanna Touch Me,” as well as her hit songs “I Hate Myself for Loving You” and “Do You Wanna Touch Me.” Later, Joan was part of the Riot Grrl movement, which included bands such L7, Bikini Kill and The Gits. In 2015, she was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Bad Reputation is a documentary about her life. To this day, she continues to tour and record music.
