interiorization means: In 1950s noir movies, a bizarre display of corridors, staircases, rooms and walls. The first degree is a metaphor for modernism’s existential terror. Modernism is a maze or labyrinth that represents man’s futility. It can also be a symbol of the false freedom and fatalism in modernism. The concept that human-created systems–modernism industrialization–cannot civilize man; and offer him unsustainable inauthentic progress. Man cannot save himself. The second degree is a metaphor that demonstrates that modernism has more to do with man than modernism. It is a reminder that man’s true essence is a heart in darkness.
