Hashknife means: The shape of a cattle brand taken from a shape of a kitchen implement. The Hashknife was founded in Texas, and later had properties in Arizona as well as Montana. Aztec Cattle Company, Arizona owned the “Hashknife Outfit”, which Zane Grey noted. The hashknife is an implement that was often found on a Chuckwagon.
