- Dolphining refers to the act of using another person’s Facebook account to post a status message. This status message serves as an aprank and demonstrates that the owner is foolish enough to let someone else access her Facebook account. Foolhardiness can be illustrated by leaving your mobile phone unlocked or forgetting to lock the computer. Named after the requirement that the status messages contain the word “dolphin” or mention dolphins, This allows anyone who sees them to instantly know their nature, and they can then laugh at the victims. The victim must follow a strict code of honor after realizing that she has been “dolphined”. The victim can only delete the message if no one has like it. As a testament to the victim’s inability to allow someone else access to her Facebook, it must be kept unchanged and available forever if the post gets at least one Like.
