You begin to think bread is a living thing with moral concerns about its consumption. This is called Pareidoliaseeing faces at unusual places. It is common to notice your cornbread or muffin looking at you in disapproval when the carbs in our lives become conscious. You stare back at them, and they stare back at you. They stare back with judgment, and you look at them longingly. Your family is soon accustomed to you explaining that the waffles are not on their table.
