Bedint means: Tasteless. Particularly, it is a sign of vulgar bourgeois ambitions to please the taste buds of the aristocracy. Vita Sackville West popularized the word, if she did not invent it. It became a common term among her friends. It is used frequently by her husband Harold Nicholson, and James Lees Milne, their friend. (in Community Dictionary, added by Marina Hart)
