Amazoness means: It is a word that was created from poor Japanese translations for the term “Amazonesu”. The word Amazon, which is a reference to female warriors, has been combined with it. The suffix ess indicates that it is female. Amazoness means “female Amazon”, which is similar to “female warrior” or “female Amazon”. It’s not clear why Amazonesu is used sometimes by the Japanese and Amazonesu at other times. It could be that Japanese don’t have plural words, so they can switch between singular and plural. Amazones in Greek is probably the plural form of Amazones, although I am not certain. Amazonesu could be translated as Amazonesu or Amazons. (in Community Dictionary, added by Jorge Gómez)
