What is Snap?
Snap is a multimedia messaging app created by Evan Spiegel, Bobby Murphy, and Reggie Brown in 2011. It allows users to send photos and videos, known as snaps, that disappear after a set time limit.
How does Snap work?
When a user sends a snap, they can choose the length of time it can be viewed (up to 10 seconds) before it disappears. Users can also create stories, which are compilations of snaps that can be viewed for 24 hours.
Examples of Snap:
- Businesses use Snapchat to engage with younger audiences through sponsored lenses and geofilters.
- Celebrities use Snapchat to give fans a behind-the-scenes look at their lives.
Case Studies:
One case study is how Taco Bell used Snapchat to announce a secret menu item, creating buzz and driving sales.
Statistics on Snap:
– Over 280 million people use Snapchat every day
– 55% of Snapchat users are between the ages of 13 and 24
– 75% of Snapchat users are located outside of the US
